Bio: Born in Accra-Kasoa, Ghana, Joseph Andema is a standout goalkeeper known for his shot-stopping ability, composure under pressure, and leadership from the back. Since stepping into the starting role at Clemson University, he has anchored one of the top defensive units in collegiate soccer, earning recognition for his consistency, clean sheets, and contributions to a national championship run. Timeline: Andema began his collegiate career at Clemson University in 2022 as a freshman goalkeeper, immediately making an impact by starting and appearing in 16 matches, recording eight clean sheets, ranking among the top freshmen in the ACC and NCAA in shutouts, and earning ACC All-Freshman Team honors as well as his team’s Newcomer of the Year award. In 2023, he stepped into a full starting role, beginning all 23 matches for Clemson and solidifying himself as a defensive cornerstone. He recorded seven clean sheets during the season, was a member of the NCAA National Championship team, contributed significantly in postseason play with multiple NCAA Tournament shutouts, and earned NCAA All-Tournament Team and Academic All-ACC honors in recognition of both performance and academic achievement.
